Our aim is to promote volleyball at grassroots level.
Kochi Blue Spikers, the team representing the city of Kochi in the Prime Volleyball League is aimed at promoting the game at grassroots levels and popularise the exhilarating game of volleyball apart from providing tremendous ecstasy and cheerfulness to thousands of volleyball fans across the nation.
Kochi Blue Spikers already have a full-fledged Volleyball academy (Muthoot Volleyball Academy) aimed at identifying and promoting rising volleyball talents. Volleyball is one of the most popular games in the world but hasn't grown to its potential in India. It is in this background that we decided to come out with the franchise and volleyball academy.
The association with Prime Volleyball and the formation of Kochi Blue Spikers are testimonies to Muthoot Pappachan Group's commitment and willingness to invest in the holistic development of volleyball and its infrastructure.
Nurturing a sporting culture in the country through various sports academies is our main goal. The Prime Volleyball League presents a great opportunity for budding volleyball talents. More than just owning a volleyball franchise, we have identified and offers free training to rising volleyball players especially students through Muthoot Volleyball Academy.
The southern state of Kerala has been the epicentre of volleyball in India, producing generations of players for the Indian national team. In Kerala, volleyball remains one of the most popular games.
Kochi Blue Spikers, representing the Queen of Arabian Sea (Kochi) aims to promote and reinvent the golden era of Volleyball in the state.
Blue Spikers have a team with skilled and experienced players coached by veteran M H Kumara. Spikers, touted to be the title contenders of this season is captained by Indian international A Karthik and defence led by ace player Deepesh Kumar Sinha.
The team is further strengthened by the foreign players Cody Caldwell, Colton Cowell from USA.
